FOOTBALL DRILLS TO DO DURING LOCKDOWN DAYS

Updated: Dec 19, 2021

Football training has become difficult during these unprecedented times. But still we can train to some extend inside our homes . So here are few drills which you can do in a limited area inside your house, in the terrace or in your backyard. All these drills would be working on your ball control and touches.

1. INSIDE OUTSIDE TOUCHES

This one is very easy. Take alternate inside and outside touches while staying at a fixed spot.Make sure that the ball does not go out of control. About 100 repetitions with each leg would be sufficient for a set.

2. THE L-DRAG

The L-turn is a very match effective skill which you use to move into space.Doing

this in repetition helps in improving your ball control. We would be taking

example of right leg to explain the following steps:-

1. pull the ball back with your right leg.

2.Tap the ball to the left side with the inside of your right leg.

3. Control the ball with your left leg.

4. Repeat the same with left leg.

reps: 75-100

3. BALL TAPS

This is probably the easiest of all drills mentioned in this post. Start by placing

the ball in one point. Then start tapping it alternatively with the sole of your

foot. This one is great for your close ball control.

reps: 100

4. V-DRAG

The v-drag is one of the most commonly used skill in a match. Here are steps for

the right leg:

1. Pull the ball back with your right leg using the sole of your foot.

2. Tap the ball to the right side with the inside of your foot.

Do this alternatively with your left and right foot

reps: 50-75

5. INSIDE FOOT TOUCHES

Another simple one, keep the ball between your legs and start tapping it with the

inside of your foot. Make sure that the ball does not move forward or go out of

control.

reps: 100-150

6. OUTSIDE INSIDE TOUCHES MOVING FORWARD

Its same as the first one but you need to move forward with each touch.

do this with both the legs.

reps:50-75 with each leg

7. WALL PASSES

This one works with your first touch and passes. Hit the ball towards the wall and

then recieve it as it comes back. Innumerable variations can be brought to this drill like taking the first touch into space, moving forward and backward as you pass etc.

reps: 50

If you do all these drills as per the specified reps for three sets, you can consider it as a full individual ball control training. Please compromise with the video location and quality as we are also in lock down.
